Ah, the tattoo party, the stuff legends are made of. Back
in the day, the TP was indeed an event. I’ve heard many
stories describing them as celebrations of fun, flesh and
ink, where friends or unlicensed and unskilled individuals
gave tattoos to each other that almost always looked terrible
and often times got infected.
Every now and then I am asked to come to a party to do tattoos
or piercings. My answer always is NO! First, because in some
areas, Newark for example, tattooing is illegal. And second,
I can comply with Division of Public Health requirements only
with access to the sanitary equipment and facilities at my
shop, which is at 1101 Kirkwood Highway, about one-half (1/2)
mile East of Newark.
Since a tattoo or piercing will last far longer than the fun
of any tattoo party you may go to, do yourself a favor, have
fun at the party, but don't get a tattoo or piercing there.
Come to American Art and have the job done right.
